Commonly used examination methods for colorectal cancer

Colorectal cancer is a very common digestive tract disease. This disease seriously affects the digestive system and causes great harm to the patient's life. We should pay attention to some treatment methods of this disease, effectively carry out health care, and pay attention to get more rest. What are the commonly used examination methods for colorectal cancer?

1. Rectal examination is a necessary step in diagnosing colorectal cancer. About 80% of colorectal cancer patients can be found through rectal examination. A hard, uneven mass can be felt; in the late stage, the intestinal cavity can be narrowed and the mass can be fixed. The finger cot can be seen with dirty pus and blood containing feces.
2. Colonoscopy After the digital rectal examination, a colonoscopy should be performed to assist in diagnosis under direct vision, observe the shape of the mass, the upper and lower edges, and the distance from the anal edge, and take the mass tissue for pathological section examination to determine the nature of the mass and its degree of differentiation. For cancer located in the middle and upper rectum, which cannot be touched by fingers, sigmoidoscopy is a better method.
3. Barium enema and fiber colonoscopy are not very helpful in the diagnosis of colorectal cancer, so they are not included in routine examinations and are only used to rule out multiple colorectal tumors.
4. Pelvic MRI
Understanding the location of the tumor and its relationship to the surrounding adjacent structures will help with accurate preoperative clinical staging and the development of a reasonable comprehensive treatment strategy, such as: should surgery or radiotherapy come first?
5. Abdominopelvic CT
It can help us understand the location of the tumor, its relationship with adjacent structures, and whether there is metastasis around the rectum and other parts of the abdominal and pelvic cavity. It is very important for the staging of colorectal cancer.
6. Chest CT or chest X-ray examination Tips: Everyone needs to pay attention to some conditioning methods for colorectal cancer. It is necessary to detect this disease as early as possible. Many people who suffer from this disease will seriously affect their lives because of untimely treatment. For patients, early treatment is the key. I hope everyone will not ignore the harm of this disease and pay attention to their own health care conditioning.
