The efficacy and role of Chinese herbal medicine cat's claw on breast cancer

Cat's claw is the dried root of Ranunculaceae. It tastes sweet and spicy, and is warm in nature. It has the effects of detoxifying, dispersing nodules, relieving cough and removing phlegm. In vivo animal experiments have shown that cat's claw has inhibitory effects on mouse sarcoma S180, sarcoma S37 and Ehrlich ascites carcinoma. It also has anti-fertility, antitussive and anti-asthmatic effects.

【Usage and Dosage】Oral administration: decoct in water, 15-30g. External use: appropriate amount, grind into powder and apply.

[Proven prescription for cancer treatment] It is commonly used clinically to treat lung cancer, malignant lymphoma, thyroid cancer and other carcinoid tumors caused by phlegm and turbidity.

1. Lung cancer

① 50g each of cat's claw and Prunella vulgaris, decocted in water, one dose per day, plus Xiaojindan, 3g each time, twice a day. [Chinese Medicine (TCM) Abstracts]

② 30g each of cat's claw, houttuynia, agrimony, mountain conch, fleabane, 20g of asparagus, 15g each of raw pinellia and thunbergia, 12g of scutellaria, decocted in water, one dose per day, divided into two doses. ("The efficacy of anti-cancer Chinese medicine in treating cancer")

2. Breast cancer

30g each of cat's claw, snakeberry, and oyster, 9g of Prunella vulgaris, decocted in water, one dose per day. (Anti-cancer Recipe)

3. Malignant lymphoma

15-30g of cat's claw, 18-24g of Paris polyphylla, 30-60g of cyperus rotundus, safflower, coix seed, 9g of rhubarb, one dose per day, decocted twice and taken in divided doses. ("Effects of Anti-tumor Chinese Medicine in Treating Cancer")

4. Thyroid cancer

50g of cat's claw, 30g each of purslane, snake fruit grass, oyster, dragon bone, selfheal, and salvia miltiorrhiza, 15g each of chrysanthemum, orange leaf, kelp seed, green peel, yellow bud, tribulus truncatum, and fritillaria thunbergii, and 20g of zedoaria, decocted in water, one dose per day.
