The appearance of kidney cancer indicates that our health is threatened. We all know what role the kidney plays in our body. If there is a problem with kidney function, we all know what will happen to us. The editor recommends that you should take preventive measures before the disease occurs and understand its causes. 1. Obesity and high blood pressure: A prospective study published in the November 2, 2000 issue of the New England Journal of Medicine shows that high body mass index (BMI) and high blood pressure are two independent factors associated with an increased risk of kidney cancer in men. 2. Radiation: Statistics show that 26 of 124 tumors caused by the use of a weak alpha particle radiation source were confined to the kidney, but there are no reports of radiation exposure and kidney cancer in radiation workers and atomic bomb victims. 3. Smoking: A large number of prospective observations have found that smoking is positively correlated with the incidence of renal cancer. Smokers with a relative risk factor (RR) of 2 for renal cancer, who have smoked for more than 30 years, and who smoke unfiltered cigarettes, have an increased risk of renal cancer. 4. Food and medicine: The survey found that high intake of dairy products, animal protein, fat, and low intake of fruits and vegetables are risk factors for kidney cancer. Coffee may increase the risk of kidney cancer regardless of the amount of coffee consumed. In animal experiments, it has been confirmed that kidney cancer is caused by female hormones (estrogen), but there is no direct evidence in humans. The indiscriminate use of antipyretic analgesics, especially drugs containing phenacetin, can increase the risk of renal pelvic cancer. Diuretics may also be a factor that promotes kidney cancer. 5. Occupation: There have been reports of increased risk of kidney cancer and death among workers in metal shops, newspaper printers, coke workers, dry cleaners, and petrochemical products. 6. Heredity: Some families have kidney cancer, which is discovered during chromosome examination. People with a high incidence of kidney cancer have defects in the third pair of chromosomes. Most familial kidney cancers occur at an early age and tend to be multifocal and bilateral. There is a rare genetic disease, hereditary varicocele (VHP), in which up to 28% to 45% of patients develop kidney cancer. In general, the causes of kidney cancer are quite complicated. If you also meet some of the above-mentioned conditions, you must be more careful than others. Only in this way can you minimize your risk of disease. |
