Pure Chinese medicine treatment for prostate cancer

Traditional Chinese medicine has a long history of treating prostate cancer. Prostate cancer, known as urinary retention in traditional Chinese medicine, is a common urinary disease in middle-aged and elderly men. Prostate cancer belongs to the syndrome of blood heat in traditional Chinese medicine, and is generally divided into three types in treatment: kidney deficiency type, damp heat type, and blood stasis type.

Because the prostate is located in a relatively central position in the urogenital system, it is connected to many organs. Once the prostate becomes cancerous, it is more likely to metastasize. Generally speaking, prostate cancer spreads in four ways:

1. Cancer cells directly invade the seminal vesicles, bladder, vas deferens, etc. through the prostate capsule.

2. Cancer cells enter the lymphatic system and grow, which is called lymph node metastasis. In the chest, there are parabronchial, hilar, and mediastinal lymph nodes; outside the chest, there are supraclavicular, axillary, and upper abdominal lymph nodes.

3. Cancer cells enter the blood system and grow, which is called hematogenous metastasis. They can grow in the lungs, liver, adrenal glands, bones, brain, testicles, etc.

4. Iatrogenic metastasis occurs when prostate cancer cells are implanted in the abdominal cavity or on the incision during Western medicine surgery. It is more common.

There are three types of TCM treatment for prostate cancer. The specific treatment methods are as follows:

1. Kidney deficiency type

Symptoms: low back pain, fatigue, dizziness, incomplete urination, thin urine stream, frequent urination, weight loss, edema, pale red tongue, white fur, deep and thin pulse, weak pulse at the radial part. Kidney yang deficiency is accompanied by chills, loose stools, impotence, etc., while kidney yin deficiency is accompanied by dry mouth, restlessness, insomnia, night sweats, etc.

Treatment method: Those with kidney yang deficiency should replenish kidney yang, and those with kidney yin deficiency should nourish kidney yin.

Prescription: For patients with kidney yang deficiency, use Youguiyin with added ingredients: 9g of processed aconite root, 6g of cinnamon bark, 9g of cooked rehmannia root, 12g each of wolfberry fruit, eucommia bark, and yam, 15g of dodder seed, and 5g of roasted licorice root.

For those with kidney yin deficiency, use Liuwei Dihuang Pills with added ingredients: 6g of Polygonatum sibiricum, 10g each of Poria cocos, Alisma orientalis, and Plantago seed, 9g of Rehmannia glutinosa, 12g of Chinese yam, and 5g of roasted liquorice.

2. Damp-heat type

Symptoms: Urgent and frequent urination, sometimes with pain when urinating, or accompanied by hematuria, poor appetite, greasy white tongue coating, and slippery and rapid pulse.

Treatment method: clear away heat and dampness, detoxify and relieve stranguria.

Prescription: Bazheng powder with added ingredients. 30g each of Polygonum multiflorum, Dianthus superbus, Imperata root, Solanum nigrum, Scutellaria barbata, and Scutellaria baicalensis, 15g each of Lycopodiella cernua, Alisma orientalis, and Plantago seed, 10g each of Phellodendron chinense, Akebia chinensis, and Atractylodes macrocephala, and 5g of roasted Licorice root.

3. Stasis and toxicity type

Symptoms: pain in the waist or back, pain and distension in the lower abdomen, difficulty urinating or hematuria, purple tongue with ecchymosis, and deep and stringy pulse.

Treatment: Clear away heat and detoxify, promote blood circulation and remove blood stasis

Prescription: Wuwei Xiaoduyin with added flavors. 30g each of Imperata Root, Solanum nigrum, Scutellaria barbata, Bletilla striata, and Duchesnea indica, 15g each of Forsythia suspensa, Taraxacum officinale, Sophora flavescens, and Chrysanthemum officinale, 10g each of Phellodendron chinense and Fructus malvaceae, and 5g of Licorice.

Prostate cancer is not an incurable disease. It can be cured if appropriate treatment is taken in time. Due to the inherent defects of Western medicine, TCM treatment of prostate cancer has attracted more and more attention in recent years. Its good survival rate and conversion rate have helped many prostate cancer patients recover.
