Ovarian cancer metastasis can manifest as 6 major symptoms

In clinical medicine, the metastasis of ovarian cancer usually has no obvious symptoms in the early stages. When the patient shows the six obvious symptoms, the disease has often developed to the late stage, and the tumor has mostly metastasized.

1. Abdominal pain, back pain or sciatica: These are painful symptoms caused by the growth of malignant tumors, infiltration into surrounding tissues or compression of nerves.

2. Abdominal distension, abdominal mass and ascites: When the tumor grows rapidly and implantation metastasis occurs, cancer cells can penetrate the peritoneum and intestinal tract, forming many nodular or papillary metastatic cancers, and further metastasize to various parts of the abdominal cavity, causing abdominal distension in patients, and in severe cases, a large amount of ascites. During gynecological examination, scattered hard nodules can be touched in the posterior vaginal fornix. The masses are mostly bilateral, substantial, with uneven surfaces, fixed, and often accompanied by bloody ascites.

3. Swollen lymph nodes: Cancer may metastasize to the lymph nodes, and swollen lymph nodes may be felt in the patient's groin, armpits, or clavicle.

4. Lower limb edema: When the tumor grows and compresses the pelvic veins, the patient may experience lower limb edema, which generally does not cause menstrual disorders.

5. Menstrual disorders, amenorrhea and signs of masculinization: If both ovaries are destroyed by cancerous tissue, it may cause menstrual disorders and amenorrhea. In addition, if it is a functional tumor, it may produce corresponding symptoms of excess estrogen or androgen, such as early functional uterine bleeding, postmenopausal vaginal bleeding or signs of masculinization.

6. Late-stage patients may show obvious weight loss and severe anemia.
