Experts introduce the symptoms of lymphoma

Lymphoma is a malignant tumor that often occurs in young adults and has a great impact on the workforce. If we can recognize the symptoms of lymphoma, we can detect and treat the disease early.

According to statistics from the World Health Organization, there are about 350,000 new cases of lymphoma and more than 200,000 deaths worldwide each year. In my country, there are about 25,000 new cases of lymphoma and 20,000 deaths each year, which is on the rise. To achieve early prevention and early treatment of lymphoma, we need to be alert to the early signs of lymphoma.

Most lymphomas manifest as painless cervical lymphadenopathy, and other parts such as submandibular and axillary lymph nodes will be discovered later. Lymph nodes can be as big as soybeans or dates, with medium hardness, tough, uniform and plump. The mediastinum is also one of the common sites for lymphomas. Most patients often have no obvious symptoms in the early stages of the disease, and X-ray examinations will reveal lobed lymph nodes in the middle and anterior mediastinum. About 50% of non-Hodgkin's lymphomas (NHL) will invade the liver. In some cases, hepatosplenomegaly can be one of the signs of lymphoma, but because most of these patients have no obvious abnormalities in liver function, and because the mass is diffuse, there are few large space-occupying lesions in liver scans, so it is sometimes not easy to be found.

In addition to these local manifestations of lymphoma, there are also systemic manifestations caused by tumors. About 10% of patients have systemic symptoms such as fever, rash, night sweats and weight loss as the first symptoms. Some patients have long-term irregular fever for unknown reasons, and superficial lymph node enlargement is not discovered until a few years later, and the diagnosis is confirmed after examination. There are also a few patients with more hidden lesions, but there are often periodic low-grade fever, persistent fever, sweating, weight loss and other symptoms that may indicate the progression of the disease. In addition, the nervous system, skin, bone marrow, etc. are often involved.

After reading the above introduction, I believe everyone has understood the symptoms of lymphoma. I would like to remind everyone to pay attention to their physical condition and seek medical attention as soon as possible if they find any symptoms of the disease.
