How is acne classified? These are all common types

Most people know about acne, which is extremely common in life. Many people have some knowledge about acne, but some people will find that some acne can be recovered in a short time, while some patients need a long course of treatment to recover. This is because the types of acne are not distinguished properly, which leads to worsening of the condition. Therefore, we need to treat the symptoms and understand the common types of acne.

Some common types of acne:

1. Acne

1. Whitehead acne: The opening of the sebaceous gland of the hair follicle is blocked by keratinocytes, and keratinized substances and sebum are filled inside, which is not connected to the outside world, forming closed comedones, which look like slightly protruding whiteheads.

2. Blackhead acne: The sebaceous glands of the hair follicles are blocked by keratin and sebum, and the openings are connected to the outside world, forming open comedones, which appear as black spots of varying sizes on the surface.

2. Pustular acne

The symptoms of this type of facial acne are mainly pus-like swellings, which are the size of green beans above the skin, with white-headed pustules on top and light red or dark red on the bottom. They are painful to the touch and the pus is relatively viscous. After healing, they often leave scars that are either shallow or deep.

3. Necrotic acne

Also known as acne-like acne or forehead acne, it never occurs before puberty, is common in people aged 20 to 50, is slightly more common in men, and may be accompanied by sebum secretion. It mainly occurs on the forehead, temples and front edge of the scalp, and can also be seen on the cheeks, nose and trunk. The lesions begin as brown-red, clustered perifollicular papules and pustules, often with umbilicus and rapid necrosis with adherent hemorrhagic crusts, which fall off after 3 to 4 weeks, leaving scars. If the injury recurs, the scar may become a network. The patient experiences subjective burning or itching.

4. Cystic acne

Sebaceous cysts of varying sizes are formed, which are often secondary to purulent infection. After rupture, bloody colloidal pus flows out. The inflammation is not severe, and sinus tracts or scars are gradually formed later.

5. Acne pitting

The small white dots scattered on the face are close to the skin color. If squeezed with hands, you can squeeze out strips or rice-sized yellow-white, translucent fat plugs. There are also small black dots, which are formed after oxidation. This symptom of facial acne is relatively common.
