Transmission routes of cervical cancer virus

Transmission routes of cervical cancer virus

Malignant tumors are related to viruses. In the 1970s, studies were conducted both at home and abroad, including the relationship between Epstein-Barr virus and nasopharyngeal carcinoma, the relationship between herpes virus and HPV and cervical cancer, and the relationship between leukemia virus and leukemia. In 1992, the World Health Organization announced that more than two-thirds of cervical cancer cases were caused by HPV types 16 and 18.

A study of 1,050 women showed that more than 90% of women with cervical cancer in India, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Thailand were infected with HPV. A study of 332 women with abnormal vaginal smears in Hong Kong, China, showed that 40% of them were infected with HPV. Cervical cancer has become the second most common cancer among women worldwide.
The peak time for antibodies to appear in HPV-infected people is generally 6-12 months after infection. A large number of viruses can be seen in the wart cell sections of patients 6 months after infection. The virus can be transmitted through friction and contact.
Because HPV is contagious, cervical cancer is a contagious disease. Its main transmission route is sexual contact between men and women, so it is also a sexually transmitted disease. In the first year after a woman's first sexual intercourse, the infection rate is about 30%; for women aged 40, the infection rate is about 70-80%. For most sexually transmitted diseases, the more sexual partners you have, the greater the incidence, but cervical cancer is different. Even if you have only one sexual partner, as long as there is contact between sexual organs during the first sexual intercourse, both men and women, and decent women, have the chance of being infected.
