Recurrence of skin cancer

Recurrence of skin cancer

Skin cancer recurrence is very common in clinical practice, so many people will ask about skin cancer recurrence. Choosing the right treatment plan for skin cancer recurrence can help prolong the patient's life. For skin cancer recurrence, it is recommended that patients choose good treatment measures as soon as possible. The following experts will introduce in detail.

There are many types of skin cancer. Among them, basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma occur on the face. Their early signs and symptoms are similar to those of general skin diseases, so they are easily overlooked.
After surgical removal of skin cancer, you may think you can rest assured, but some symptoms may appear and you cannot tell whether it is a recurrence of skin cancer. Recurrence of skin cancer after surgery is basically caused by incomplete treatment. Although surgery can remove the cancer, there may still be residual cancer, regional lymph node metastasis, or cancer thrombus in blood vessels. Squamous cell carcinoma can be transformed from keratosis, mucosal leukoplakia and other precancerous diseases. It grows quickly and forms ulcers in the early stage. Some are nodular or cauliflower-shaped, with less invasion into the deep part and a movable base, while others are butterfly-shaped, with more obvious infiltration into the deep part, great destructiveness, and often involving bones. Squamous cell carcinoma is often accompanied by purulent infection, accompanied by stench and pain. Regional lymph node metastasis is common. Basal cell carcinoma is often asymptomatic at the onset. In the early stage, it is mostly plaque-like papules with a hard base, and some are warty protrusions, and then ruptures into ulcers, which are irregular, with raised edges, uneven bottoms, and slow growth. Metastasis is extremely rare. First, a shallow ulcer with a translucent nodular protrusion on the edge occurs, which then gradually expands and may invade surrounding tissues and organs, becoming an invasive ulcer.
