Will brain cancer recur after surgery?

Obviously, when surgical resection is incomplete, the tumor will "continue to grow" and this is not a true recurrence. In such cases, the return of clinical symptoms is attributed to the continued increase in the size of the tumor. Surgeons often consider the tumor to be completely removed despite the fact that micro-lesions have been missed. When a macroscopic tumor mass is found in the venous sinus or at a site distant from the primary tumor, it may be easier to judge it as "continued growth" or recurrence, but it is difficult to assess the exact amount of tumor remaining in the original site. In addition, it is also difficult to evaluate whether it is simply invasion of the tumor into the venous plug or bone tissue.
