What are the high-risk factors for lung cancer

Lung cancer is a disease that is extremely harmful to the human body, and the causes of the disease are often diverse. This disease also has a higher mortality rate among all cancer diseases, and it usually occurs in middle-aged people over 40 years old. The common clinical causes of lung cancer are as follows:

Risk factors for lung cancer include:

1. Smoking is considered to be a factor that causes lung cancer. In 1922, Hampeln found that continuous smoking and inhalation of dust can stimulate bronchial epithelium and induce cancer. In 1924, Moller applied tar to the back of rabbits and found that the incidence of lung cancer increased slightly. Currently, smoking is considered to be the most basic high-risk factor for lung cancer. There are more than 3,000 chemical substances in tobacco. Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon compounds (such as benzopyrene) have strong carcinogenic activity and can act on certain special enzymes in human tissues (especially lung tissues) to produce mutations in cell molecular structures (such as DNA). There may be mutations in K-ras.

2. Caused by occupation and living environment: Occupational and environmental exposure. It is estimated that up to 15% of lung cancer patients have a history of environmental and occupational exposure. There is sufficient evidence to prove that the following 9 industrial components increase the incidence of lung cancer: byproducts of aluminum products, arsenic, asbestos, bis-chloromethylether, chromium compounds, coke oven mustard gas, nickel-containing impurities, vinyl chloride, long-term exposure to substances such as beryllium, cadmium, silicon, formalin, etc. will also increase the incidence of lung cancer. In addition, air pollution, especially industrial waste gas, is a high-risk factor for lung cancer.

3. Radioactive uranium and fluorite miners who are exposed to uranium byproducts of radon decay and other inert gases have a significantly higher incidence of lung cancer than other people, but people exposed to ionizing radiation do not increase the incidence of lung cancer.

4. Congenital and familial genetic factors: Family genetic and congenital factors, as well as reduced immune function, metabolic and endocrine dysfunction, etc. may also be high-risk factors for lung cancer

5. The incidence of lung cancer in industrially developed countries is increasing. The main reason is that the atmosphere is polluted by harmful substances such as benzopyrene carcinogenic hydrocarbons produced by the combustion of petroleum, coal, internal combustion engines, and asphalt road dust in industrially and traffic-developed areas. Relevant survey data show that the incidence of lung cancer is also increased in areas with high concentrations of benzopyrene in the atmosphere. Air pollution and smoking may promote each other and play a synergistic role in the incidence of lung cancer.

The above are several risk factors for lung cancer. In addition, chronic lung infection can also lead to lung cancer. Experts remind everyone: In life, you should pay attention to choosing a good living environment, and your residence and work should be as far away from chemical manufacturing areas as possible. You should also smoke less to avoid the occurrence of such diseases.
