Can breast cancer patients get pregnant

With the improvement of living standards, increasingly serious environmental pollution, and the influence of factors such as marriage, childbearing, and breastfeeding, the incidence of breast cancer has gradually increased, and there is a trend of younger women suffering from breast cancer. More and more young women are suffering from breast cancer. For those who have not yet given birth, what they are most concerned about is: Can they have children? When can they get pregnant?

Can breast cancer patients get pregnant?

For some reasons, more and more young women now choose to marry late or remain infertile after marriage, but they do not know that this not only increases the incidence of breast cancer, but also makes it difficult for women to get pregnant once they have breast cancer. Studies have found that breast cancer patients should not get pregnant during or after the operation. This is because the mother's endocrine system undergoes great changes after pregnancy, and the estrogen level increases sharply, which can easily promote the development of latent cancer cells and cause the recurrence, recurrence and metastasis of breast cancer. This is very dangerous.

Normal cells and abnormal cancer cells in the human body contain a substance that can bind to hormones, called hormone receptors. Hormones are like keys, and receptors are their corresponding locks. "The key must be inserted into the lock to open the lock." Hormones need to bind to receptors to work. For healthy people, it can play a normal physiological function. For those who have the conditions for cancer, it can promote the process of cancer. For cancer patients, it will "indulge" the progression of cancer.

Breast cancer cells are divided into estrogen receptor positive and negative. Positive ones are estrogen-dependent breast cancer. After pregnancy, the elevated estrogen levels can easily lead to a sharp deterioration of the disease. Once pregnant women and lactating women are diagnosed with breast cancer, the disease spreads and metastasizes early, the disease progresses quickly, and the treatment effect is poor. In clinical practice, there are many patients who have been actively treated for cancer and have achieved satisfactory control of the tumor, but due to pregnancy, they make a big mistake, causing the cancer cells to "come back".

Some female friends become pregnant during the treatment stage when the cancer has not yet been controlled. Due to the sudden increase in estrogen levels during pregnancy, the remaining cancer cells "revive", grow and multiply rapidly, and expand their territory through multiple channels to re-establish new "footholds", causing the harm of breast cancer to become increasingly serious.

Therefore, it is recommended that breast cancer patients do not conceive during treatment. If they want to have a child, based on their own condition, early-stage patients or patients without lymph nodes who have been observed for three years without signs of metastasis can consider pregnancy; patients with lymph node metastasis should observe for three years without metastasis before conceiving.

Warm reminder: Cancer patients have certain restrictions on fertility. Due to the limitations of the disease, it may be dangerous if the conception period is not right, so you must carefully consult your doctor for relevant information.
