Early diagnosis of primary liver cancer

Early diagnosis of primary liver cancer

Sometimes, some liver cancer patients really want to know the extent of their disease, and worry whether their condition will further deteriorate. In fact, without the detection of medical instruments, it is difficult for patients to judge their own condition. Some people also say that they can look at the patient's complexion, but this is not a scientific method. Therefore, in order to let people know more about liver cancer, we also tell people about the common scientific diagnosis methods of liver cancer.

1. Ultrasound examination is very valuable for diagnosis

Ultrasound can show the shape and size of tumor-occupying lesions and provide a diagnostic tool for liver tumor diseases.

2. AFP test is simple and practical

The method of diagnosing primary liver cancer by detecting alpha-fetoprotein in the blood is simple and practical, and is currently a commonly used diagnostic method in clinical practice. Alpha-fetoprotein will be detected in the blood of patients with liver cancer and hepatitis, but not all liver cancer patients will have alpha-fetoprotein detected. Therefore, it is not possible to confirm the diagnosis by only this method.

3. CT examination is a common diagnostic method

CT examination can clearly show the size, shape, number and boundaries of the tumor.

Aside from hepatocellular carcinoma, the most common cause of elevated AFP is hepatitis.

This is because some hepatitis patients produce alpha-fetoprotein during the regeneration of liver cells. This increase in alpha-fetoprotein is temporary. Once the hepatitis activity stops and liver function returns to normal, the alpha-fetoprotein will return to the normal range.

The above are the normal diagnostic methods that our doctors usually use. Of course, some experienced doctors may have other diagnostic methods. For liver cancer patients, it is indeed necessary to understand their own condition, but it is more important for patients to focus all their attention on serious treatment, because no matter how advanced the disease is, we still need to actively treat it and not give up.
