Can esophageal cancer be completely cured?

Can esophageal cancer be completely cured? Generally speaking, esophageal cancer is best diagnosed at an early stage. Esophageal cancer refers to a malignant tumor that occurs in the esophagus. If esophageal cancer is discovered early, the chances of cure are still very high, but there are many dietary restrictions after surgery: for example, smoking and drinking should not be allowed, and a light diet should be avoided, and hard food should not be eaten.

It is generally believed that the occurrence of esophageal cancer goes through the stages of epithelial atypical hyperplasia, carcinoma in situ, invasive cancer, and metastatic cancer. Atypical hyperplasia and carcinoma in situ can be completely cured. Atypical hyperplasia of the esophageal squamous epithelium is an important precancerous lesion of esophageal cancer. It usually takes several years or even more than ten years from atypical hyperplasia to cancer. Therefore, those who have the following symptoms and usually like to eat spicy, hot, pickled foods, seafood, or have a family history of this disease should pay enough attention:

1. There is a feeling of choking when swallowing food. This happens when swallowing large pieces of medicine, dry pancakes and other things that are difficult to chew.

2. There is a foreign body sensation in the esophagus. There is a foreign body sensation similar to rice grains or vegetable fragments stuck in the esophagus, which cannot be swallowed. The pain is not related to eating, and even if you do not swallow, you still feel that there is a foreign body.

3. The food passes slowly and there is a feeling of retention, which disappears after the food is swallowed. However, this feeling has nothing to do with the nature of the food, and some people have this feeling even when drinking water.

4. Pain in the sternum when swallowing, especially when swallowing hard food
