Late symptoms of esophageal cancer

Late symptoms of esophageal cancer

The symptoms of late stage esophageal cancer are more typical than those of early stage, and the difficulty of diagnosis and treatment is also greater. The success rate of radical cure of esophageal cancer at this stage is relatively low, and patients generally control the deterioration and development of the disease. Before esophageal cancer develops to the late stage, active and effective treatment is the most effective measure to delay the progression of the disease and prolong the patient's life.

First, difficulty swallowing.

Patients with early esophageal cancer will also have such symptoms, but they are not very obvious and are indirect, and they can still eat ordinary food. In the middle and late stages, patients not only cannot eat daily food, but even liquid food is difficult to swallow.

Second, the pain worsens.

In the early stage, patients will feel pain behind the sternum when swallowing food, but the symptoms are relatively mild and patients generally think it is caused by fatigue. In the middle and late stages, the pain will become continuous and worse day by day, even making it unbearable for patients and affecting their rest.

Third, the voice becomes hoarse.

In the middle and late stages, cancer cells will spread and invade the laryngeal nerves, paralyzing the vocal cords and causing hoarseness.

Fourth, vomiting.

At this stage, vomiting no longer occurs when choking, but occurs whenever eating, or even when not eating. Sometimes it is accompanied by mucus or blood. Among the symptoms of mid- to late-stage esophageal cancer, vomiting is the most obvious.

This article explains the symptoms of late-stage esophageal cancer. Considering the complexity of the symptoms of mid- and late-stage esophageal cancer and the poor physical condition of the patients, patients can choose to combine Chinese and Western medicine to treat esophageal cancer, or only use Chinese medicine to regulate their body to strengthen their physical fitness, delay the disease, and prolong the patient's survival.
