Women can prevent laryngeal cancer by drinking more tea

Women who drink more tea can prevent laryngeal cancer. According to the British Daily Mail, a new study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that middle-aged and elderly women who regularly drink green tea can greatly reduce the risk of colon cancer, stomach cancer and laryngeal cancer. Let's learn more about it.

In the new study, researchers conducted a follow-up survey on more than 69,000 middle-aged and elderly Chinese women, of whom 19,000 drank green tea regularly (drank tea more than three times a week). The 11-year follow-up survey found that 1,255 women suffered from digestive system cancer. Women who drank tea regularly and for a longer period of time had a relatively lower risk of developing such cancer. Women who drank tea for at least 20 years had a 27% lower risk of digestive system cancer than women who did not drink tea, and a 29% lower risk of colon cancer. The study found that women who drank green tea at least three times a week could reduce the risk of digestive system cancer by 14%, including colon cancer, stomach cancer and laryngeal cancer.

The new study leader, this large-scale new study results show that in Chinese women, there is a clear association between regular tea drinking and reduced colorectal cancer, stomach cancer and esophageal cancer. At present, it is difficult to say that green tea itself has an independent role in reducing the risk of cancer, because people who like to drink green tea are usually more health-conscious. The study found that women who like to drink tea are younger, eat more fruits and vegetables, exercise more, and have higher incomes. The new study does take these lifestyle factors into account. None of the women participating in the study had the habit of smoking or drinking regularly. The researchers also collected information about the women's diet, exercise habits, weight scales, and previous medical history.

Even after taking all the above factors into account, there is still an inverse correlation between women's tea drinking habits and their cancer risk. However, it has not yet been proven that there is a causal relationship between the two.
