Can early-stage laryngeal cancer be cured?

What are the early symptoms of throat cancer? Throat cancer is a general term for nasopharyngeal cancer, oropharyngeal cancer, and laryngeal cancer. Many patients find abnormalities in their daily lives, and only find out that they are in the late stage when they go to the hospital for examination. Therefore, it is very important to understand the early symptoms of throat cancer. Early detection and early treatment will greatly improve the treatment effect.

Below, the editor will introduce the early symptoms of laryngeal cancer in detail.

1. A foreign body sensation in the throat or pain when swallowing: These symptoms are early symptoms of supraglottic pharyngeal cancer, but once the tumor originating from the vocal cords develops to the middle and late stages, it will also cause a foreign body sensation in the throat or pain when swallowing. This type of symptom is often not obvious at the beginning of the disease, so patients and doctors are more likely to ignore it.

2. Persistent hoarseness: Hoarseness is the earliest and most common sign of pharyngeal cancer. Most pharyngeal cancer cases start from the vocal cords, that is, even a very small vocal cord tumor can cause abnormal vibration of the vocal cords and cause hoarseness.

3. Coughing and coughing up blood: Coughing is mostly irritating and dry, and when there is sputum, there is blood in the sputum. When the tumor grows, it will make the secretions in the trachea difficult to discharge, which often causes respiratory infections.

4. Difficulty breathing: When the laryngeal tumor is too large, it causes airway obstruction.

5. Reflex pain: When the tumor ruptures, is accompanied by inflammation or ulceration, or laryngeal perichondritis occurs, it can cause nerve reflex pain, manifesting as ipsilateral headache and ear pain. This symptom mainly occurs in patients with supraglottic tumors.

Anyone who finds the above early symptoms of laryngeal cancer should pay enough attention and go to a regular hospital as soon as possible. Only a detailed examination can tell whether you have cancer or not. There is no need to put too much mental burden on yourself.
