Regular physical examination is the key to preventing and treating cervical cancer

It is reported that human papillomavirus (HPV) infection is the main risk factor for cervical cancer. Infection with the virus can lead to atypical cervical hyperplasia, which can then develop into cervical cancer. However, the occurrence of cervical cancer has a long precancerous lesion period, namely cervical intraepithelial neoplasia, abbreviated as CIN. During this period, patients do not have obvious symptoms, so it is not easy to detect. It takes about 10 years for general cervical precancerous lesions to develop into cervical cancer. From this perspective, cervical cancer is not terrible, it is a disease that can be prevented and even cured.

The key to preventing cervical cancer is to insist on having a gynecological examination every year. Some women have psychological barriers to gynecological examinations, and in order to save trouble, they only have a gynecological examination every two or even three years. There are also many women who never have a gynecological examination because they do not have any symptoms. Women who have already had sex should have a cervical cytology smear test, that is, a traditional Pap smear, or a liquid-based cytology test, every year. These tests are non-invasive and painless, and one test only takes a few minutes. If conditions permit, it is best to do a human papillomavirus (HPV) test at the same time.

If the test is abnormal, a colposcopy or direct cervical biopsy is required to clarify the nature of the lesion. If precancerous lesions are found, they can be treated with laser, LEEP knife, cervical conization and other methods.

To prevent cervical cancer, in addition to regular physical examinations, you should also develop good exercise habits to improve your immunity. Nowadays, women in the workplace are under increasing work pressure, and some women of childbearing age also have to take care of children. They should develop a good habit of exercising every week, such as brisk walking, jogging or ball games, to strengthen their physical fitness. In addition, you must have a regular lifestyle and ensure adequate sleep to prevent virus invasion.
