Pyloric stent implantation for gastric cancer

The steps of pyloric stent implantation in patients with gastric cancer are:

① Tell the patient to relax and not be nervous; wear a top without metal attachments.

②Inject atropine 0.5-1 mg intramuscularly 10 minutes before the operation.

③ Take 10 ml of diatrizoate meglumine orally, determine the stricture segment by gastrointestinal X-ray, and mark it on the body surface.

④ Slowly immerse lidocaine jelly into the pharynx for 3 to 5 minutes until there is no gag reflex or the gag reflex is weakened.

⑤ Remove the dentures, place the dental tray, and use the direct vision function of the gastroscope in the gastroscopy room to implant the guide wire into the esophagus, and then implant it through the gastric cavity and the narrow pyloric segment into the duodenum below the pylorus. Remove the gastroscope, retain the guide wire, and use X-ray to confirm that the guide wire is in the duodenum.

⑥ Push the patient to the radiology department, and under the guidance of gastrointestinal X-ray, implant the pyloric stent along the guide wire, confirm that the stent enters the narrow pyloric segment, and gradually release the stent until it is completely released.

⑦ Inject diatrizoate-containing saline along the side hole of the stent releaser to confirm that the contrast agent passes through the stent smoothly, and then withdraw the guide wire and stent releaser.

⑧ Push the patient into the ward and closely observe the patient's vital signs. After 24 hours, take the patient to the radiology department for another X-ray barium swallow examination to confirm that the pylorus has been dilated and opened. The patient can then eat and drink.
