Comprehensive Treatment of Laryngeal Cancer with Traditional Chinese Medicine

The comprehensive treatment of laryngeal cancer with traditional Chinese medicine is as follows:

1. Postoperative Chinese medicine treatment

Drug composition: 15g of Pseudostellaria heterophylla, 12g of Adenophora radix, 20g of Ophiopogon japonicus, 10g of Dendrobium officinale, 12g of Rehmannia glutinosa, 15g of Scutellaria baicalensis, 12g of Polygonatum sibiricum, 12g of Lycium barbarum, 6g of Fritillaria cirrhosa, 10g of Lilium, 10g of Poria cocos, 20g of Imperata cylindrica, 20g of Agrimoniae scabra, 30g of roasted malt, and 4g of Licorice.

Add or subtract: For patients with poor appetite and thick and greasy tongue coating, remove the raw rehmannia and add 10g of charred hawthorn and 15g of Chinese yam. For patients with fatigue, weakness, pale tongue, tooth marks on the edges, and thin and weak pulse, add 10g of Atractylodes macrocephala and 15g of Codonopsis pilosula. For patients with excessive sweating and shortness of breath, add 10g of Atractylodes macrocephala, 10g of Saposhnikovia divaricata, and 15-30g of calcined oyster (fried first).

Usage: Decoction in water, 1 dose per day, divided into 2-3 times.

2. Treatment during or after radiotherapy

Drug composition: Ophiopogon japonicus 12g, Asparagus cochinchinensis 12g, stir-fried Gardenia 10g, Platycodon grandiflorum 10g, Fritillaria thunbergii 10g, Adenophora 12g, Scutellaria baicalensis 10g, Pseudostellaria pseudoginseng 15g, Scrophularia ningpoensis 10g, Sophora flavescens 12g, Atractylodes macrocephala 10g, Lonicera japonica 10g, Poria 12g, Hedyotis diffusa 30g, and Licorice 10g.

Add or subtract: For those with poor appetite, add 10g of fried malt, 10g of fried barley sprout, 10g of hawthorn, 10g of chicken gizzard lining, and 10g of Shenqu; for those with dry mouth and obvious red tongue, add 10g of Dendrobium, 10g of Anemarrhena, 20g of Ophiopogon japonicus, and 15g of Asparagus cochinchinensis; for those with insomnia and irritability, add 30g of Ziziphus jujuba seeds and 10g of Schisandra chinensis.

Usage: Decoction in water, 1 dose per day, divided into 2 doses.

3. Post-chemotherapy treatment

Drug composition: Codonopsis pilosula 15g, Ophiopogon japonicus 12g, Poria 15g, Amomum villosum 6g, Atractylodes macrocephala 12g, Adenophora 15g, Scutellaria baicalensis 10g, Lonicera japonica 15g, Platycodon grandiflorum 10g, Arctium 10g, Gynostemma pentaphyllum 15g, Gardenia jasminoides 10g, Ligustrum lucidum 10g, Cuscuta australis 10g, Folium artemisiae 30g, Coix lacryma-jobi 30g, Licorice root 3g.

Add or subtract: For those with spleen and stomach deficiency and cold, reduce the amount of Gardenia, Scutellaria, and Parsley, and add 15g of Chinese yam and 10g of Euryale ferox; for those with decreased leukocytopenia, add 20g of Astragalus, 10g of Placenta, and 10g of Cynomorium songaricum; for those with nausea and vomiting, reduce the amount of Gardenia and Platycodon, and add 10g of Persimmon Calyx, 10g of Inula flower (package), and 30g of Hematite.

Usage: Decoction in water, take once a day, divided into 2 doses.
