Clinical manifestations of gastric cancer

There are no special early symptoms of gastric cancer. What should be paid more attention to is that on the basis of benign gastric diseases such as chronic gastritis, gastric ulcer, etc., there will be slight changes in sensation. For example, the patient's symptoms are often light for a while and heavy for a while. Sometimes it feels that it has been cured and there are no symptoms for a long time. However, it relapses due to factors such as fatigue, anger, cold, excitement, etc. At this time, the possibility of gastric cancer should be considered.

Gastric cancer also feels different because it occurs in different parts of the stomach. Gastric cancer that occurs in the cardia and the bottom of the stomach may feel swallowing obstruction, and similar to esophageal cancer, dull pain and discomfort under the xiphoid process or behind the sternum, which may be aggravated when eating. Gastric cancer that occurs in the body and greater curvature of the stomach feels upper abdominal discomfort, pain after eating, which can be relieved without eating, and gradually worsens to the point where it hurts even without eating, becoming irregular. Gastric cancer that occurs in the antrum of the stomach is mainly characterized by dull pain in the upper abdomen, or paroxysmal pain, or paroxysmal aggravation on the basis of persistent pain. If the lesion is close to the pylorus, a large bulge in the upper abdomen may also appear, which may make a sound of water and may vomit out the food eaten the day before. These are all symptoms of pyloric obstruction. Patients in the middle and late stages may experience bleeding, which may manifest as occult blood in the stool or black stool, or vomiting blood. Because of the long-term slow oozing of blood from the gastric cancer lesion and the consumption of the gastric cancer itself, patients may also first show anemia. Some patients have anemia as the first symptom.
