What are the tumor marker tests for bladder transitional cell carcinoma

Bladder transitional cell carcinoma is a type of bladder cancer. Its tumor marker examination is not only helpful for tumor diagnosis, but also has predictive significance for judging the biological behavior of the tumor, which helps to accurately grasp the patient's condition and formulate a practical treatment plan.

Bladder transitional cell carcinoma antigen (BTA)

BTA is a product gradually formed by the degradation of the bladder basement membrane by proteolytic enzymes. BTA detection has high sensitivity and specificity for transitional cell epithelial carcinoma. The sensitivity and specificity of BTAstat and BTAtest included are 65.90%, 63.63% and 82.89%, 81.57%, respectively, with no significant difference. If the two reagents are used in combination, the specificity of bladder cancer diagnosis can be significantly improved without reducing the sensitivity, reducing misdiagnosis and mistreatment caused by false positive results.

Hyaluronidase test

Hyaluronidase can degrade matrix hyaluronic acid outside cells. The sensitivity of hyaluronidase activity in urine of G2 and G3 bladder cancer patients using gel technology is 92% to 100%. Hyaluronidase detection plays an important role in the examination of bladder cancer.

Fibrin degradation products (FDP)

The sensitivity of rapid immunoassay for the diagnosis of bladder cancer is 68%, and the sensitivity for T2 to T4 bladder cancer is as high as 100%.

Telomerase activity

Telomeres are protective structures located at the ends of chromosomes. The function of telomerase is to extend telomeres and prevent them from shortening as tumor cells grow. The sensitivity of telomerase activity detection to bladder cancer is as high as over 90%.
