Is congenital scoliosis hereditary? Early detection and early treatment are the key

The cause of congenital scoliosis is still not very clear in medicine, so there is no clear evidence to show that the disease is hereditary. However, the most important thing for this disease is for parents to detect it early and treat it for their children, and pay more attention to changes in their children's spine.

1. Scoliosis is very harmful to children. Experts have conducted a nationwide census of children aged 8-12 and found that there are about 300 million children under the age of 15 in my country, and the incidence of scoliosis is 1.06%. There is currently no evidence as to whether congenital scoliosis is hereditary.

2. Clinically, it is seen that there are several patients with spinal deformity in the same family at the same time, but in general, inheritance is very rare, and single spinal deformity is generally not hereditary. Once scoliosis occurs, it should be corrected in time to avoid developing into ankylosing spondylitis. According to authoritative statistics, there is a 17% chance of inheriting spinal curvature. Although current medicine cannot change genetic genes, it is still recommended that you receive treatment as soon as possible.

3. Autosomal dominant inheritance pattern. Foreign experts have conducted a study on a sample group of 2,000 cases and found that the incidence rate of idiopathic scoliosis in the first generation was 7, the second generation was 3.7, and the third generation was 1.6, supporting autosomal dominant inheritance.

4. This study certainly has a large sample size, but it only included clinical examinations and X-ray examinations of suspected cases, and most people lack X-ray data. In addition, experts also conducted a survey on 509 pairs of parents and a non-selective group of 110 scoliosis patients. The results showed that there were dominant genetic abnormalities in the chromosomes of patients with this disease.

5. Regarding the question of whether congenital scoliosis is hereditary, from the editor's introduction, it can be seen that there is still no definite evidence to prove whether it is hereditary. However, parents can detect and treat this disease early. Paying more attention to whether the child's spine has changes in daily life can detect the disease early and actively treat it!
