People with unexplained vision loss should be alert to brain cancer

36-year-old Ms. Zhang is a sales manager of a company. Her busy work made her relax her vigilance against diseases. Two months ago, she was promoted to the regional supervisor of North China due to her outstanding performance. In order to repay her leader's appreciation, she worked even harder. However, long-term overload work also made Ms. Zhang's health deteriorate. She had intermittent black eyes and could not see things clearly. Sometimes she also had headaches and dizziness. Whenever this happened, Ms. Zhang would put some eye drops to relieve eye fatigue and did not pay much attention to it. However, at a summary meeting, Ms. Zhang suddenly blacked out and fainted. She was immediately sent to the hospital and diagnosed with brain cancer.

Brain cancer, a seemingly distant name, is getting closer and closer to modern urban people. Many people think that they are young and strong in their twenties and thirties and will not get brain cancer. Therefore, when they feel uncomfortable, they will never think that it is brain cancer. Brain tumors are progressive tumors. They occupy a certain space in the skull. As they continue to grow, they compress the intracranial tissues, increase the intracranial pressure, cause central nervous system damage, and endanger the patient's life.

It seems to be very common for office workers to often feel eye fatigue, but due to lack of medical knowledge or neglect of health due to busy work, many people do not know that this is one of the common symptoms of brain cancer. For example, there is unexplained vision loss, or monocular vision loss, which cannot be corrected by wearing glasses; or when looking at objects, the peripheral vision on both sides of the eyes becomes smaller and smaller, just like the curtains are pulled up, and sometimes you can't see clearly when someone or a car is coming in front of you. These are all relatively serious visual impairments. When similar situations occur and are accompanied by intermittent headaches, you should be highly alert to the possibility of brain cancer and be sure to go to a regular specialist hospital for a detailed examination to avoid missing the best time for treatment.
