How to disinfect contact lens cases?

Most friends who wear contact lenses pay great attention to the cleanliness of the glasses themselves, but often overlook the fact that the glasses case also needs to be disinfected and cleaned. When cleaning and soaking the glasses daily, some bacteria will be left on the edge or bottom of the glasses case. If it is not cleaned or disinfected for a long time, it will cause bacteria to continue to multiply and affect our eye health. How do you disinfect your contact lens case?

How to disinfect contact lens cases?

Step 1: Empty your contact lens case. Make sure to avoid contact with oil without leaving any residue. Step 2: Clean and disinfect with boiled water. Avoid using tap water to clean contact lens cases (tap water contains many chemical components that are harmful to contact lenses, and also contains bacteria and other microorganisms). It can also be cleaned and disinfected with care solution. Step 3: Let it air dry. Make sure your contact lens case is air-dried before you seal it.

How to clean the contact lens case:

First, you need to use boiling water to clean and disinfect the mirror box, including some other care tools, such as clips, suction sticks, etc.;

Secondly, place the cleaned contact lens case upside down and let it air dry naturally.

Finally, rinse the lens case with fresh care solution before using it.

Contact lens case cleaning precautions:

1. Contact lens boxes are used every day as lens storage boxes. The lens boxes are often damp, which is a potential source of infection. If the lens storage box is kept damp and unclean for a long time, it is easy for bacteria such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa to grow, which in turn infects the lenses, causing itching, redness, swelling and other eye discomfort after wearing. Generally speaking, contact lenses need to be rinsed with care solution every day, the companion box should be disinfected (with boiling water) once a week, and a new companion box should be replaced every three months.

Second, it should be noted that you cannot use tap water to clean the contact lens case. Tap water contains many chemical components that are harmful to contact lenses, and there are bacteria and other microorganisms in tap water. You can rinse it with boiling water, let it air dry naturally after rinsing, and then use it after it is air-dried. Also, do not place the contact lens case in a humid environment such as the bathroom, as it is easy to breed bacteria.
