Gastric precancerous lesions can be reversed through treatment

The occurrence of malignant tumors is a gradual process. Some benign diseases of certain organs in the human body are prone to abnormal cell proliferation and have a tendency to malignant changes. These abnormal proliferations with a tendency to cancer are called precancerous lesions. For the common malignant tumor gastric cancer, if the precancerous lesions can be reversed and eliminated, it is an effective measure to prevent gastric cancer.

Studies have found that all-trans retinoic acid and sodium butyrate can inhibit the development of precancerous lesions in rats into gastric cancer; selenium yeast can prevent tumor formation; natural β-carotene can reverse dysplasia; folic acid can treat atrophy, intestinal metaplasia and dysplasia. Currently, the main treatment for precancerous lesions of gastric cancer is follow-up observation and surgical treatment.

In the past 10 years, TCM has also conducted extensive and fruitful research on gastric precancerous lesions from many aspects, such as diagnosis and differentiation of symptoms, treatment principles and prescriptions. TCM has indeed achieved good results in the clinical treatment of chronic atrophic intestinal metaplasia and dysplasia. TCM can not only reverse atrophic glands, but even reverse incomplete colonic metaplasia and dysplasia by protecting the gastric mucosa, improving gastric mucosal blood circulation, and enhancing the regeneration and repair function of gastric mucosal epithelial cells. TCM can be divided into syndrome differentiation treatment, basic prescription addition and subtraction treatment, fixed prescription treatment, Chinese patent medicine treatment, and integrated Chinese and Western medicine treatment.
