Treatment of esophageal cancer with TCM differentiation of symptoms

Phlegm-damp type

Main symptoms: patients have difficulty swallowing, phlegm, chest and pharynx obstruction, diaphragmatic and rib distension, turbid qi rising, dark blue tongue, enlarged tongue with tooth marks around, thick and greasy white fur, and smooth and fine pulse. X-ray examinations mostly show advanced medullary or constrictive esophageal cancer.

Treatment method: Warming Yang and replenishing Qi, strengthening the spleen and removing dampness, relieving adverse effects and removing blood stasis.

Prescription: The main prescription for esophageal cancer is selected with the addition of 30g of coix seed, 20g of yam, 15g of lentil, 10g of white cardamom, 10g of tangerine peel, 10g of pinellia, 10g of inula, 30g of magnetite, etc.

Obstruction type

Main symptoms: This type of patients often have complete or near-total obstruction in swallowing, dry retching or vomiting mucus, red, dry and cracked tongue or dull, fat and too much fluid, thick and greasy yellow tongue coating or less coating, and deep and fine pulse.

Treatment method: Open the channels and dredge the blood vessels, relieve obstruction and penetrate the diaphragm.

Prescription: Bezoar 1.5g, Atractylodes macrocephala 1.5g, Aquilaria sinensis 2g, Realite 2g, Naphalite 9g, Saltpeter 20g, Moonstone 20g, Borneol 6g. Grind into fine powder and take orally every day.
