What to do if a three-month-old baby has severe eczema

Eczema is not actually a very serious disease, but if. If you don't take timely care of eczema or take medication on time, it will become more and more serious, and may even cause eczema all over your body. Since three-month-old babies are still relatively small, their recovery ability is naturally relatively poor. After they develop eczema, they may not recover for a long time. Let’s take a look at what to do if a three-month-old baby has severe eczema?

The main cause of childhood eczema is intolerance or allergy to ingested, inhaled or contacted substances. It often occurs in the forehead, eyebrows, cheeks, scalp, around the auricles and other parts of the head and face, and then gradually spreads to the neck, shoulders, back, limbs, around the anus, vulva and other skin wrinkles, and can even affect the whole body. The current treatment is mainly to use corticosteroid-containing drugs to apply eczema to small areas, and it is recommended to use Chinese medicine lotions or apply them to the affected area or take them orally for treatment of large areas.

When a child has eczema, it is mainly necessary to identify the cause of the eczema. Most of the time, it is related to food allergies. Therefore, finding and avoiding allergens is more important than using topical medications. If the child is breastfed, the mother needs to pay attention to avoiding foods. If the child is formula milk, use low-allergy formula milk as appropriate. If the eczema is very severe, consider topical hormone drugs, which can quickly relieve symptoms. If it is not serious, try to avoid hormone drugs and use local moisturizing treatment.

Eczema needs careful care. Mothers should not use irritating soap when washing the baby's face and bathing the baby. If the eczema on the body and limbs is also there and is severe, do not give the baby a bath in a tub. Children should be dressed in clean, soft and comfortable clothes, and pillows should be changed and washed frequently to prevent them from catching cold or getting hot (avoid cold wind and exposure to the sun in summer). If the mother wants to apply ointment to the baby, she must do so under the guidance of a doctor. Also, a warm reminder: if the mother is breastfeeding or mixed feeding, pay attention to a light diet and eat less fish, shrimp, and spicy food.
