The sympathetic nerves play many roles in our human body, and have certain effects on the circulatory organs, digestive organs, respiratory organs and endocrine glands. Although we cannot perceive its existence, we cannot ignore its irreplaceable role in our human body. However, what should we do if there is a problem with the sympathetic nervous system? Is there anything we can do to restore the sympathetic nervous system to normal? Now let me introduce to you how to repair the sympathetic nerves. 1. Sympathetic nerve block or axotomy: 1. Local anesthetics or epidural block: If the upper limbs are affected, the ganglia below the stellate ganglion can be blocked. First inject 2-8 ml of normal saline. If it is ineffective within 15 minutes, inject 5 ml of 1% procaine (to block the sympathetic nerves). If the pain is still not relieved, inject 20-30 ml of 1% procaine into the brachial plexus sheath. For lower limb involvement, 5 ml of normal saline, 0.2% procaine (sympathetic nerve blocking concentration), 0.5% procaine (sensory nerve blocking concentration), and 1% procaine (motor nerve blocking concentration) can be injected epidurally every 10 minutes. 2. Chemical drugs: The first drug used is guanethidine. 20 mg of guanethidine is injected locally intravenously 20 minutes after the tourniquet is applied to neutralize norepinephrine. Compared with stellate ganglion block, intravenous infusion of phentolamine has lower sensitivity but higher specificity. 2. Glucocorticoids: Effects of corticosteroids on RSDS It has obvious therapeutic effects, especially for those who refuse or cannot tolerate sympathetic nerve blockade therapy. Generally, a high-dose, short-course therapy is used, with 60 to 80 mg of prednisone per day, taken orally in 4 divided doses. The dose is gradually reduced after 2 weeks and discontinued after 3 to 4 weeks. For some patients, a low dose of prednisone 5 to 10 mg/d may be needed for a long time to control symptoms. 3. Nifedipine (Nifedipine): It is a calcium ion antagonist that can relax smooth muscles, increase peripheral blood circulation, and counteract the effects of norepinephrine. It can not only relieve pain but also stabilize vascular movement. Other drugs such as amitriptyline, phenoxybenzamine, propranolol (propranolol), bisphosphonates, etc. have also been reported to be used in the treatment of sympathetic nerves. In addition to the above-mentioned drug therapy, we can also gradually restore the sympathetic nerves through diet. For example, mushrooms, wheat, lamb, etc. are very beneficial to the sympathetic nerves, so patients can try to eat them. Finally, the editor would like to remind everyone to maintain a regular lifestyle, pay attention to nutritional balance, and stay away from the harm of sympathetic nervous system diseases. |
