How does Traditional Chinese Medicine understand primary liver cancer

In traditional Chinese medicine, primary liver cancer generally falls into the categories of "liver accumulation", "qi distension", "emaciation", "accumulation", "jaundice" and "swelling". Traditional Chinese medicine emphasizes syndrome differentiation and treatment, and divides liver cancer into mid-stage, late-stage and early-stage. Due to different causes, the treatment methods are also different.

The general treatment principle of TCM for liver cancer is to "strengthen the body's health" and "eliminate the pathogenic factors":

Strengthening the body: Strengthening the spleen and stomach, nourishing the vital energy, nourishing the blood, nourishing the yin, moistening the intestines, warming the yang and transforming the qi, etc.

Dispel evil: promote blood circulation and remove blood stasis, resolve phlegm and disperse nodules, promote qi circulation, eliminate dampness, promote diuresis, reduce jaundice, have a laxative effect, clear away heat and detoxify, etc.

There are corresponding treatments for different stages of liver cancer:

Early liver cancer: The diagnosis is mainly based on evil excess, liver qi stagnation, qi stagnation and blood stasis, and supplemented by deficiency of the body and weak spleen.

TCM treatment method: mainly focusing on promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis, softening and dispersing nodules, soothing the liver and promoting qi circulation, with the purpose of eliminating pathogenic factors.

Mid-stage liver cancer: Syndrome differentiation is mostly based on both deficiency of the body's health and excess of pathogenic factors, spleen deficiency, weak qi, blood stasis and phlegm accumulation.

TCM treatment method: Strengthen the spleen and stomach, focus on promoting qi, removing blood stasis and dispersing nodules, and take into account strengthening the body and eliminating evil.

Advanced liver cancer: diagnosis includes severe loss of vital energy, excess pathogenic factors, deficiency of qi and blood, disharmony of spleen and stomach, stagnation of qi and blood stasis, and excess phlegm and dampness in the body.

Traditional Chinese Medicine Treatment: Mainly focus on strengthening the spleen and replenishing Qi, harmonizing the stomach, relieving bloating, promoting diuresis, reducing jaundice, protecting the vital energy and saving the patient first.
