Minimally invasive surgery is the development trend of surgery today. Laser combined with endoscopic technology has achieved minimally invasive treatment of laryngeal cancer. Laser surgery for laryngeal cancer is a very advanced treatment method. It applies laser technology to laryngeal microsurgery, which makes the advantages of the two overlap. Laser surgery for laryngeal cancer has a history of 30 years and has developed rapidly in the past decade. In some developed countries, laser surgery for laryngeal cancer has accounted for 30% to 50% of all laryngeal cancer surgeries, and there is a trend of increasing year by year. Its superiority has been recognized by more and more patients. Minimally invasive surgery for laryngeal cancer requires basic medical equipment, including a laryngoscope, a microscope, laryngeal microsurgery instruments and a laser machine. Laser surgery for laryngeal cancer uses the cutting effect of lasers. There are many types of laser machines used for laryngeal cancer surgery, including CO2 lasers, Ar+ lasers, Nd--YAG lasers, KTP/532 lasers, semiconductor lasers, holmium lasers, etc. Among them, CO2 lasers are the most commonly used. In reports on laser surgery for laryngeal cancer, more than 90% of patients choose CO2 lasers. The most advanced one at present is the ultra-pulsed CO2 laser treatment system. Ultra-pulsed CO2 laser therapy machines are the latest technology used in clinical surgery and treatment internationally since the early 1990s. Compared with the commonly used continuous wave CO2 laser surgery, this laser surgical device has the advantages of fast incision, delicate blade, and less thermal damage to the surrounding tissues of the surgical site. The equipment that matches the laser includes a supporting laryngoscope, an operating microscope and laryngeal microsurgical instruments. Good equipment is the basis for ensuring the quality of the operation. Good quality laryngeal microsurgery instruments are made of high-quality metal materials, have good strength, thin forceps, are suitable for a variety of angles, and are equipped with forceps heads of different models and shapes. When laser cutting tissue, a large amount of smoke will be generated, which will affect the surgical operation. During the operation, the smoke needs to be removed to ensure a clear surgical field. Lesions that invade the subglottis or areas that cannot be directly viewed can be reflected to the target tissue by metal reflectors to achieve the purpose of treatment. |
