Diet therapy for skin cancer

Compared with medical treatments, diet therapy is more easily accepted by people. In my country, diet therapy has a long history. In the Zhou Dynasty, there was "food medicine". Sun Simiao, a famous doctor in the Tang Dynasty, said: "As a doctor, you must understand the source of the disease and know what the patient has done wrong. Treat it with food. If diet therapy does not work, then prescribe medicine." This shows the importance of diet therapy. Skin cancer patients should grasp the following three basic principles when using diet therapy.

1. Emphasize balanced nutrition and focus on strengthening the body and replenishing the deficiency

The "internal deficiency" of skin cancer patients is the main contradiction in the occurrence and development of the disease. Cancer is caused by deficiency, and deficiency is caused by cancer. The deficiency is mixed with the excess, and deficiency is the root cause. The purpose of diet therapy is to ensure that skin cancer patients have sufficient nutritional supplements, improve the body's disease resistance, and promote the patient's recovery. The general principle should be to strengthen the body and replenish the deficiency.

2. Be familiar with the nature and flavor of food, and emphasize the differentiation of symptoms and the application of food

Skin cancer is like other diseases. Patients have different yin and yang, cold and heat, deficiency and excess. Food also has different four properties and five flavors: cold, hot, warm and cool, pungent, sweet, bitter, sour and salty. Heat syndrome is suitable for cold and cool, cold syndrome is suitable for warm and hot; the five flavors enter the mouth and each has its own destination. Sweet enters the spleen, pungent enters the lungs, salty enters the kidneys, bitter enters the heart, and sour enters the liver. Pungent taste warms and disperses, such as ginger and scallion; sweet taste is mild, such as yam, Euryale ferox, and maltose; light taste is penetrating, such as winter melon and coix seed; sour taste is astringent, such as black plum and hawthorn; salty taste softens hard masses, such as seaweed, kelp, oyster, etc.

3. Choose anti-cancer foods and strive for targeted treatment

Medicine and food have the same origin. Some foods have both therapeutic and anti-cancer effects and can be used in a targeted manner. Cloves and persimmon calyx are used by the public to treat esophageal cancer, skin cancer, liver cancer, etc. Experiments have confirmed that they have an inhibitory effect on transplanted tumors in mice caused by carcinogenic viruses. Foods in daily life, such as garlic, soy products, and green tea, are also good anti-cancer medicines.
