Early detection of skin cancer is the key

Although white people account for a large proportion of the skin cancer incidence population, this does not mean that this disease will not patronize the yellow race. Therefore, we should all have a general understanding of skin cancer. If the relevant symptoms can be discovered in the early stage, it will be more conducive to treatment and prognosis.

The most obvious symptom of skin cancer is changes in the skin, and different types of skin cancer have different symptoms. Some skin cancers may start as small smooth, pale or waxy bumps, some of which may bleed or develop scabs; while other skin cancers may start as rough, dry or scaly red spots.

Basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma

Basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma occur most often on areas of the body that are exposed to the sun, such as the head, face, neck, and arms. They can also occur on other parts of the body.

Actinic keratosis

Actinic keratosis is characterized by rough, red or brown, scaly patches on the skin. Also called a precancer, it usually turns into squamous cell carcinoma. Like other skin cancers, actinic keratosis often develops on skin that has been exposed to the sun, but it can also occur on other parts of the body.

Early warning signs of skin cancer:

(1) Squamous cell carcinoma initially presents as wart-like plaques or small light red or yellowish nodules with keratinized apical spines on the top. They continue to grow, ulcerate in the center, and have raised and congested edges. In the early stages, basal cell carcinoma presents as hard blood rashes the size of rice grains or flat spots with a waxy luster, covered with yellow-brown or dark gray scabies, with hard embankment-like protrusions on the edges after ulceration.

(2) Black mole-like things grow around the eyes and mouth, and soon become raised and black.

(3) Lesions on the breasts and genitals may initially appear like eczema but are difficult to cure.

Changes in your skin do not necessarily indicate cancer. However, if the above symptoms persist for more than two weeks, you should see a doctor immediately. Don't wait until these areas become painful before you start to take it seriously, because skin cancer is painless in the early stages.
