Are you at high risk for colon cancer?

Are you at high risk for colon cancer?

The early symptoms of colon cancer are not obvious and are easily ignored. If you have the following conditions, then you really should pay attention, because you have become a high-risk group for colon cancer.

Age Factor

As age increases, the time that various pathogenic factors stimulate the large intestine mucosa also increases. Most patients develop the disease after the age of 40, so if you are over 40, you should be careful.

Family history

If you have a first-degree relative, such as a parent, who has had colorectal cancer, your risk of developing the disease is eight times higher than the general population. Statistics show that about a quarter of new patients have a family history of colorectal cancer.

Other intestinal history

If you have certain colon diseases such as Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis

If you have had intestinal adenomas and polyps, your risk of developing colon cancer is dozens of times higher than that of ordinary people; most colon cancers develop from small precancerous lesions, which are called polyps. Among them, villous adenomas and polyps are most likely to develop into cancer, with a chance of malignancy of about 25%.

Laboratory tests

If your fecal occult blood test result is positive, then your chances of developing colon cancer increase significantly.

Clinical manifestations

If you have 2 or more of the following 6 symptoms, then colon cancer may be closer to you than others: mucus, pus and blood in the stool, chronic diarrhea, chronic constipation, history of chronic appendicitis, history of mental trauma, and history of malignant tumors.

The above high-risk groups should be examined regularly to prevent malignant lesions.
