Skin cancer should be prevented and treated promptly

Ms. Sun, a 56-year-old farmer from Shanxi Province, accidentally discovered a patch of red spots under her ribs 5 years ago. In the days that followed, the spots gradually turned into small red hard bumps with unclear edges. Then they slowly began to peel off. After her family learned of Ms. Sun's condition, after much persuasion, Ms. Sun finally agreed to go to the hospital. When she arrived at the hospital, the doctor took one look and said, "From what I see, you may have psoriasis, but it could also be another disease. If you're worried, do a pathology." Ms. Sun's son was worried and insisted on doing a pathology. When the pathology results came out, it was confirmed that Ms. Sun's skin lesions were not really psoriasis, but early cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma."

The doctor recommended radical surgical removal as soon as possible, but because the skin lesions were not serious at the time and the disease was not taken seriously enough, and the financial situation was unaffordable, after repeated consideration, Ms. Sun decided not to seek treatment for the time being.

After returning home, Ms. Sun did not take any treatment. The skin lesions changed day by day. The plaques began to ulcerate, the center was sunken, and the edges were protruding like rotten cauliflower. Then bleeding occurred and accompanied by a foul smell. At this time, nearly two years had passed. Seeing that the skin lesions were getting worse, Ms. Sun felt a little scared and came to the hospital again for surgical treatment. After learning about Ms. Sun's situation, the doctor sighed and said, why didn't you have surgery earlier when you had found it a long time ago? Now the cancer has invaded the subcutaneous bone tissue and has spread widely. At this time, surgery alone is not enough. After surgery, it is necessary to combine radiotherapy and chemotherapy. The prognosis is quite poor. Ms. Sun weighed the pros and cons and finally gave up treatment.
