Chinese medicine for treating anaplastic large cell lymphoma

Ms. Shi is 67 years old this year. She is a patient with stage IV anaplastic large cell lymphoma. In February last year, she was diagnosed with a nodule on the left lower chest wall. In July of the same year, she was diagnosed with a nodule on the back. Because the nodules grew too fast, Ms. Shi underwent surgery in August to remove the two lumps. According to the theory of TCM differentiation of syndromes, it is believed that this is caused by the combination of blood stasis and toxins, liver depression and spleen deficiency, so the treatment is to remove blood stasis and toxins, soothe the liver and strengthen the spleen.

Drug treatment:

1. Chinese patent medicine: Cidan capsule, Zhengxiaohuang capsule, Gubenbaoyuan capsule.

2. Chinese herbal medicine: Wei Da No. 2 + No. 4, 30 doses, decocted in water.

On March 30, 2012, Ms. Shi came for a follow-up visit with a relaxed look on her face. After a month of medication, Ms. Shi's sleep has improved significantly. The doctor told Ms. Shi that whether chemotherapy is performed after lymphoma surgery or not, Chinese medicine should be combined with treatment, mainly to improve symptoms and reduce toxic and side effects; Chinese medicine should be used to control tumor growth after chemotherapy.
