What are the symptoms of advanced prostate cancer metastasis

The occurrence of prostate cancer brings great harm to men. As the disease progresses, the cancer will metastasize, causing unbearable pain to patients. It mainly includes bone metastasis and lymph node metastasis.

Bone metastasis

When patients feel bone pain, it means that prostate cancer has metastasized to bones. Common sites of bone metastasis include the spine, hip bones, ribs, and scapulae. Most of them occur in the blood-rich parts of the central axis of the bones. About 60% of advanced patients experience bone pain, which is common in the waist, sacrum, buttocks, hip pelvis, and can be confined to a certain part. Migratory pain can also occur. The pain time is intermittent or continuous, especially continuous dull pain, which often affects the patient's appetite, causing the patient to become increasingly thin and miserable. In addition, because cancer cells erode bones for a long time, the risk of pathological fractures increases. If cancer cells invade the vertebral body of the spine, resulting in compression of the spinal cord, treatment becomes more difficult.

Lymphatic metastasis

This is also a more serious symptom of metastasis. Generally, it occurs in the internal iliac, external iliac, retroperitoneal, groin, mediastinum, supraclavicular and other parts. When the lymph nodes are obviously swollen, compressing the blood vessels and blocking the lymph return of the lower limbs, symptoms of lower limb and scrotal swelling will appear. If prostate cancer metastasizes extensively in the bladder area or pelvic lymph nodes, symptoms of unilateral or bilateral ureteral obstruction such as anuria or oliguria, back pain, nausea, vomiting will appear, and fever may occur when combined with infection.
