Types of surgery for cervical cancer

Cervical cancer is a common malignant tumor that is very harmful to women. Some patients need to have their hysterectomy to treat breast cancer. Due to different physical conditions, the degree and symptoms of the disease are different, and the scope of hysterectomy is also different. It is mainly divided into the following three types of operations:

1. Total hysterectomy refers to the lateral plane of cervical separation but not including the cervical stroma, cutting the uterosacral ligament at the cervical attachment, and cutting about 1 cm of the vaginal wall. In general, total hysterectomy for benign gynecological diseases is performed by separation on the outer plane, entering the cervical stroma and cutting just inside the attachment of the main ligament, while in extended extrafascial total hysterectomy, the cervicosacral ligament is cut close to the cervix and the vaginal wall is cut at the cervical attachment.

2. Subradical hysterectomy is to separate and remove the main uterine ligament between the cervix and the pelvic wall, about 1/3 to 1/2 of the outer side of the cervix, about 2 to 3 cm away. The uterosacral ligament is separated in the middle, preserving the nerve innervation of the bladder, and there is no need to place a urinary catheter for a long time after the operation.

3. Radical hysterectomy refers to total hysterectomy, in which the main uterine ligament is removed at the pelvic wall and the levator ani, and the uterosacral ligament is removed near its lower and outer attachments. The parauterine tissue should be removed more than 4 cm according to the scope of the lesion, and the pelvic wall can be reached if necessary. Pelvic lymph node dissection is also required at the same time.

Hysterectomy has a great impact on women, so early detection and timely treatment are very important.
