Five major symptoms of male lung cancer patients

Men, especially those over 40 years old who usually smoke more than a pack a day and have smoked for more than 20 years, should always be vigilant. If they have the following symptoms, they are very likely to have lung cancer.

The early symptoms of lung cancer are generally not very obvious. The early symptoms of lung cancer patients often include dry cough, hemoptysis, etc.

Sudden onset of blood in sputum or a little blood, hemoptysis. Older men should be alert to lung cancer, while younger men may be suffering from tuberculosis. Unfixed chest pain, or back pain, upper abdominal pain, shoulder pain, etc.; recurrent pneumonia in fixed parts of the body.

1. Cough

The main symptoms are paroxysmal irritating coughing, a feeling of incomplete coughing, usually no sputum or only a small amount of white foamy sputum, and secondary infection may cause purulent sputum. If there is no improvement after 2 weeks of anti-inflammatory treatment, the possibility of lung cancer should be alerted.

2. Hemoptysis

Another warning sign of lung cancer is intermittent and repeated small amounts of blood in sputum, or blood in sputum. In addition, there are also symptoms such as chest and back pain, chest tightness, and fever.

3. Chest tightness and pain

Generally, the symptoms are mild and the location is vague. When the tumor invades the pleura and chest wall, the pain becomes more severe and the location is clearer and more stable than before.

4. Shortness of breath

It can be caused by pneumonia, malignant pleural effusion, diffuse alveolar lesions, atelectasis, etc. caused by cancer obstruction.

5. Caused by fever, obstructive pneumonia or cancer toxins.

When febrile lung cancer grows in the bronchus and develops to the point where the lumen is semi-obstructed or completely obstructed, it can cause obstructive pneumonia. The fever is generally around 38°C and can be easily reduced with anti-inflammatory treatment. However, if the obstructive lesions are not removed, pneumonia will reappear soon, forming recurrent pneumonia.
