Three major factors causing colon cancer

1. Dietary factors

2. Occupational factors

3. Genetic factors

It is estimated that genetic factors may play an important role in the etiology of at least 20% to 30% of colon cancer, including 1% of patients with familial polyposis and 5% of patients with hereditary polyposis-free colon cancer syndrome. 80% to 100% of patients with hereditary familial polyposis may develop malignant tumors after the age of 59.
