There are many ways to stop bleeding. If you want to stop bleeding quickly, the best way is to go to the hospital. If bleeding occurs in the upper limbs of a person, the patient must lie flat first, because lying flat can lower the center of gravity of our body. In this way, when stopping bleeding, the blood circulation will be slower and the effect of stopping bleeding will be more obvious. So, is the upper limb tourniquet pressure method effective? The tourniquet pressure of the upper limb is generally 250-300 mmHg. If the pressure is too high, it may cause tourniquet paralysis and damage to the radial nerve, median nerve, and ulnar nerve. Therefore, everyone should pay attention to the pressure range of upper limb tourniquet, which is 250-300 mmHg. Strictly abide by it to avoid secondary injuries. Everyone knows the pressure range of the upper limb tourniquet and also needs to know the precautions of the tourniquet. 1. Check whether the air bag and display are intact before use. 2. Use the correct part. Before applying the tourniquet, place a thin cotton pad on the skin surface, with the width 1 to 2 cm wider than the two sides of the tourniquet. After the tourniquet is tied, fix the outer layer with a bandage. A pneumatic tourniquet of appropriate size should be selected. 3. Do not allow iodine, alcohol or other disinfectants to accumulate under the tourniquet to avoid skin irritation or burns. 4. Record the time after inflation, the time limit is 1 hour, and it can be reused after a break of 5 to 10 minutes. The pressure index should be checked every 15 to 30 minutes and the operator should be reminded in time. The standard location for tourniquet tying is the upper 1/3 of the upper arm in the upper limbs and the junction of the middle and lower 1/3 of the thigh in the lower limbs. Some people currently advocate tying the tourniquet on a healthy part close to the wound to maximize limb preservation. Tying a tourniquet in the middle and lower 1/3 of the upper arm can easily damage the radial nerve and should be considered a restricted area. When you find a wound bleeding, immediately press the bleeding area with your hand. This is called pressure hemostasis, which can be divided into two types. One is to apply direct pressure to the wound. Whether you use clean gauze or other cloth items to press directly on the bleeding area, it can effectively stop the bleeding. Another method is finger pressure hemostasis, which involves pressing your fingers on the adjacent bone at the proximal end of the bleeding artery to block the source of blood supply to achieve the purpose of hemostasis. When finding the pressure point, use your index finger or ring finger, not your thumb, because there is a thick artery in the center of the thumb, which can easily lead to misjudgment. Once you find the arterial compression point, use your thumb or several fingers to press at the same time. |
