How to get an accurate pregnancy test?

Pregnancy is a very important thing for every woman and her family. Confirming whether you are pregnant is even more important. Some people may not even know that they are pregnant, which is undoubtedly a very serious matter. There are many ways to test pregnancy, such as using pregnancy test sticks, early pregnancy test paper, and ovulation test paper, etc. So how to test pregnancy accurately? Let's introduce it in detail below.

Some of the more accurate pregnancy tests are:

Ovulation test strips

Ovulation test strips are usually used to detect ovulation in women who are planning to have a baby. In fact, it also has another function, which is to test whether you are pregnant. This test strip will also react to HCG, which is human chorionic gonadotropin, but it will only show a weak positive result about 10 days after ovulation. The accuracy rate is the lowest among the six methods. If you don’t have a pregnancy test stick, it’s okay to use an ovulation test strip to test it.

Pregnancy test stick

In principle, the pregnancy test stick is the second least accurate of these six methods, because its principle is to detect HCG in urine. Due to the accuracy issue, many pregnant mothers are confident to go to the hospital to verify whether they are pregnant only after three or four days of testing. If two clear bars appear, the possibility of pregnancy is very high. If one is clear and the other is blurred, it is a weak positive, which does not necessarily mean pregnancy. Therefore, the pregnancy test stick is usually the first step for women to test for pregnancy. Although the accuracy rate is not 100%, it is also the most convenient and quickest way.

Early pregnancy test paper

The effects of early pregnancy test strips and pregnancy test sticks are actually similar. They also use morning urine for testing. The pregnancy test stick is placed in a urine measuring cup, and the early pregnancy test strip is to drop urine into the detection hole. If your period has been delayed for half a month and has not come yet, a pregnancy test strip may give you good news. This operation is a little more troublesome than a pregnancy test stick, and the accuracy of the test results is on par with that of a pregnancy test stick.

Go to the hospital for a urine test

Compared with pregnancy test sticks, going to the hospital for a professional urine test seems to be more accurate and reliable. Ordinary pregnancy test sticks also have differences between brands. The hospital's testing level is more accurate. Although it is far from the same, it is much more accurate than pregnancy test sticks. However, if some people are born with lower HCG levels, the HCG content in urine testing will not be very accurate.

Go to the hospital for a blood test

A friend of mine, whose mother-in-law is an obstetrician and gynecologist, went directly to the hospital to test her pregnancy by blood test. It can be seen that the accuracy of blood test is much higher than that of urine test. The HCG concentration in the blood is higher than that in the urine. As the number of days of pregnancy increases, the concentration will tend to double. Generally, pregnancy can be detected about 10 days after conception, and the results can be available very quickly.

B-ultrasound

Although B-ultrasound is more troublesome, it has the highest accuracy rate. The earliest time for B-ultrasound to detect pregnancy is one week after the menstruation is delayed. If a pregnancy ring can be found in the B-ultrasound environment, the dark area inside the ring is the amniotic fluid, which means pregnancy. If you are lucky, you can also see a rhythmic fetal heartbeat, which means pregnancy is undoubtedly a possibility. In addition, it should be emphasized here that only B-ultrasound can accurately tell whether it is an intrauterine pregnancy. Many ectopic pregnancies can also be found to have increased HCG concentrations in the body. Only when the fertilized egg implants in the uterus is it a normal pregnancy.
