Analyzing the classification of esophageal cancer from different angles

The classification of esophageal cancer from different medical perspectives is different, which provides favorable conditions for better treatment of esophageal cancer. So what are the common classifications of esophageal cancer ? The following is a brief introduction to the common classifications of esophageal cancer.

In general, the common types of esophageal cancer are:

1. Classification by location: Esophageal cancer patients are classified into three sections according to the location under endoscopy and during surgery: upper, middle and lower. The upper section refers to the plane from the entrance of the esophagus to the upper edge of the aortic arch, the middle section is from the upper edge of the aortic arch to the lower edge of the inferior pulmonary vein, and the lower section is from the lower edge of the inferior pulmonary vein to the gastric cardia. This is one of the common classifications of esophageal cancer.

2. Endoscopic classification: This type of esophageal cancer is divided into flat type, depressed type, and raised type; in the middle and late stages, it is divided into mass infiltration type, mass type, ulcer type, ulcer infiltration type, and peripheral stricture type.

3. Pathological histological classification: squamous cell carcinoma, adenocarcinoma, adenosquamous carcinoma. The pathological histological classification of esophageal cancer is mainly poorly differentiated squamous cell carcinoma and moderately differentiated squamous cell carcinoma, accounting for 83%. 93%. Endoscopic classification is mostly mass infiltration type. The pathological histological classification of esophageal cancer is mainly poorly and moderately differentiated squamous cell carcinoma.

4. Clinical treatment: Generally, it can be divided into local type, local metastasis type (the tumor has invaded outside the esophagus or nearby lymph nodes) and distant metastasis type. This is also the common classification of esophageal cancer.

The above is an introduction to the common classification of esophageal cancer. I hope it will be helpful to you. For more questions about the classification of esophageal cancer, you can consult our online experts, who will answer them in detail.
