How to help your baby sleep?

Many young parents are completely unaware of the importance of baby sleep, and they don’t pay attention to how long the baby sleeps every day. Babies need to sleep for a long time every day, and adequate sleep is crucial to the baby’s physical and mental development. If you find that your baby does not sleep well, you can take the following methods to promote sleep.

How to help your baby sleep?

1. Create a sleeping atmosphere. Babies are easily affected by the environment. When it is time to fall asleep, put the baby on the bed and create a quiet sleeping atmosphere. This will make the baby gradually lose interest in people and things around him. Then parents can guide the baby to sleep, which will improve the baby's sleep quality.

2. Give your baby a sense of security. Babies are still young and have little perception of external things, so they can be easily awakened by fright. So make your baby feel safe while sleeping, for example, wrap your baby in a soft scarf so that your baby can sleep naturally warm. As your baby grows older, he or she can gradually relax and no longer need to be swaddled.

3. Arrange bedtime routines for your baby. Arrange some bedtime routines for your baby to do every day, so that the baby can subconsciously know that it is time to go to bed after completing these things, and then calm down and fall asleep quickly. For example, mothers can wash their baby's feet before going to bed every day to relax the body and mind.

4. Give your baby a bedtime massage. Mother’s caress is a great comfort to the baby, creating quiet and gentle conditions for the baby to fall asleep. A University of Miami study showed that young children were more likely to fall asleep after receiving a bedtime massage.

5. Sing a lullaby to your baby. When the baby is in the mother's belly, he can hear the lullaby sung by the mother. These music make the baby feel relaxed and safe, so that he can fall asleep quickly. Therefore, mothers can hum lullabies before bed to promote their baby's sleep and improve their baby's sleep quality.

6. Gently rock your baby in a cradle or hammock, and your baby will easily calm down and fall asleep. Bassinet and hammock are better for babies to sleep in than letting them sleep with adults. Of course, parents should also be careful not to shake the baby too hard, as this will make the baby feel uneasy.
