Is mold on the wall harmful to the body?

As we all know, if our living environment is too humid, the walls will easily become moldy, which is very harmful to human health and may even cause rheumatism. If the wall is moldy, everyone must pay attention to the cleanliness of the environment and keep the living environment dry and hygienic. If necessary, you can also use mold removers and other items. So, is moldy wall harmful to human body?

First of all, you need to know that mold on the walls is generally caused by moisture. If the human body lives in a humid environment for a long time, people will get rheumatism. Moreover, the growth of mold on moldy walls will cause the bacterial content in the room to be too high, which will trigger human allergies to mold spores. If the human body inhales too much during long-term breathing, it can easily cause respiratory diseases, and some people may even suffocate.

How to deal with moldy walls

Treatment of minor mildew stains

1. Put mildew remover, 84 disinfectant or bleach solvent on the rag and wipe the moldy wall, or use a small spray bottle to atomize and spray to clean the mildew stains.

2. After 24 hours, use a clean rag dipped in clean water, wring it out and wipe it again (if the mold is serious, repeat the operation once). Be careful to keep the wall dry to avoid mold again.

Treatment of severe mildew stains

1. First use sandpaper and a spatula to remove the mildew stains, and then spray the wall with mildew remover, 84 disinfectant or a bleach solution.

2. Use putty to repair the wall surface and make it smooth. Walls that are damp for a long time should be treated with a waterproof layer (before that, any water leakage that may exist in the wall should be found and repaired);

3. After the putty layer is completely dry, apply the sealing primer and mildew-proof enhanced anti-alkali primer;

4. Finally, apply a layer of anti-mildew paint on the wall.

Moisture-proofing is critical for rooms with moldy walls

Use a dehumidifier

If the wall is damp and moldy, you can use desiccant or activated carbon to prevent moisture and absorb moisture. There are many desiccants in supermarkets that are specially used for moisture prevention and dehumidification. The most common ones are desiccant boxes and dehumidification bags.

Use a dehumidifying breather

It is like a vacuum cleaner, which can gather together the moldy and humid air on the wall, and the moisture will often turn into water. Use air conditioning to dehumidify. Air conditioners used in homes generally have a dehumidification function. However, the method of using air conditioners to adjust the indoor air humidity is slow to take effect, generally taking two or three hours, and will make people indoors feel cold.

Dehumidification using lime and bamboo charcoal

Put an appropriate amount of lime in a small cloth bag, tie it into a small bag and place it in various corners of the room. Lime itself has the function of absorbing moisture, and can also slow down the moisture and mold of the wall. At the same time, lime also has a disinfecting effect, killing two birds with one stone. Bamboo charcoal dehumidifier can be used repeatedly, but you have to use it more often. If you use less, the effect will not be very good.

When the outside humidity is heavy, doors and windows should be closed to prevent moisture and humidity.

You should open windows more often to ventilate and reduce the water vapor content in the room. Especially for newly renovated houses, there is a lot of moisture, so more ventilation is needed to remove the moisture.
