What are the stages of renal tumor metastasis?

Kidney tumor is a very common malignant tumor, also called renal cell carcinoma. In severe cases, it may metastasize. So, what are the stages of kidney tumor metastasis? Let's see how experts explain it.

Generally, cancer cells will take nutrients from the body and grow larger. When cancer cells exceed 3 cm, they will begin to metastasize through different pains. The metastasis of kidney tumors can be early or late. A few highly malignant kidney tumors have already metastasized to distant sites when the primary tumor is still small or has not yet been discovered. In some cases, metastasis may occur many years after the kidney tumor is removed.

Expert introduction: There are three main forms of metastasis of renal cell carcinoma, namely facial infiltration, lymph node metastasis and hematogenous metastasis. It can also be carried out in stages. So, how does the metastasis of renal tumors proceed?

Stage I: The tumor is confined to the renal capsule, without invasion of the perinephric fat, renal vein, and regional lymph nodes.

Stage II: The tumor has invaded the perinephric fat but is still confined to the perinephric fascia; the renal vein and regional lymph nodes are not invaded.

Stage III: The tumor has metastasized to the regional lymph nodes. The perinephric fat, renal vein, and inferior vena cava have or have not been invaded.

Stage IV: The tumor has invaded adjacent organs (except the adrenal glands) or has metastasized to distant sites.

The above is an introduction to the stages of renal tumor metastasis. Relevant experts point out that renal tumor patients, especially those in the early stage, must seize the period when cancer cells have not yet metastasized during treatment, which is very beneficial to the recovery of the disease.
