What are the sequelae of pituitary tumors

When it comes to sequelae, most people will definitely have a headache. The same is true for surgery. It is impossible for everyone to be 100% successful. There will always be a small number of people who will have sequelae. Today we will talk about the sequelae of pituitary tumors. Since the treatment of pituitary tumors is generally performed by craniotomy, if there are sequelae, they are relatively serious. So what are the sequelae of pituitary tumors?

1. Because nasal mucosal edema, sphenoid sinus inflammation and other factors are caused, patients with severe conditions can choose to take painkillers to relieve pain.

2. Hypopituitarism is manifested by fever, general weakness, headache, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, etc. After the diagnosis is clear, some prednisone and thyroxine can be used for treatment under the doctor's advice.

3. Symptoms such as nose bleeding may also occur. After a few days, if the condition is mild, you can temporarily put cotton balls in the nose, which will be effective. If the condition is severe and there is a lot of bleeding, you should go to the hospital for examination and treatment.

4. Generally, the patient will have a stuffy nose, and a small amount of secretions or cool liquid will flow out of the patient's nasal cavity. The patient can drip nasal drops and anti-inflammatory liquid into the nasal cavity to relieve this phenomenon. One week after the operation, the ENT department will clean the secretions in the nasal cavity about once or twice.

5. Generally, hyponatremia will occur around the 4th to 8th day after the operation. The common symptoms are low fever, lack of strength, headache, nausea, and vomiting. At this time, you should go to the hospital for examination and diagnosis. After the doctor confirms the diagnosis, you should infuse hypertonic saline and limit your drinking water.

Patients must actively receive treatment to avoid sequelae and exercise appropriately to enhance resistance.
