What's the matter with the black spots on the tongue

There are black spots on the edge of the tongue. From the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine, this is a phenomenon of blood stasis. Under normal circumstances, the tongue has a thin white coating and is pale white. This is a normal phenomenon. If black spots or dark spots appear, you must emphasize nourishment, maintain adequate rest, and pay attention to your usual diet. Try to eat a lighter diet. If you feel uncomfortable, you can go to the hospital for examination. Let us learn about this aspect.

What are the black spots on the tongue?

A red tongue indicates heat, a purple tongue indicates illness, and a black tongue indicates serious illness... Many people believe that the black spots on the tongue are just like freckles and moles on the body, which are very common and normal. Then you are wrong. If you find that your tongue suddenly has black spots or turns black one day, you should pay attention!

The tongue is normally covered with a thin white coating, and is mainly pale white. There should be no 'black spots' or dark spots. If the "black spot" symptom appears, it is often considered that there is blood stasis in the body.

For people with blood stasis constitution, the tongue may show the following symptoms:

1. There are ecchymoses and petechiae on the sides and tip of the tongue.

2. Lift up the "tongue" and you will see two veins, which are black and thick and bulge out in all directions.

3. The tip of the tongue deviates to one side.

4. The tongue is purple in color.

Physical manifestations: forgetfulness, dry throat, irritability, dry skin, body aches, dull complexion, dark lips, dark circles under the eyes, and dysmenorrhea.

It is worth noting that generally the four situations will not occur at the same time. If the tongue shows any of the above symptoms, you should go to the hospital for examination immediately. Modern people have poor blood circulation. If a woman has blood stasis, she may have diseases such as uterine fibroids or ovarian cysts.

Causes of black tongue:

1. Generally speaking, getting angry, poor blood circulation, gastrointestinal diseases, chronic diseases (such as uremia, malignant tumors, etc.), trauma, anger, liver depression and qi stagnation can easily cause blood stasis, qi deficiency, coldness, etc. are all causes of the tongue turning black.

2. Black tongue may also appear when the mind is under high mental stress, often staying up late, and smoking too much.

3. In addition, some foods (such as sour plums, black sesame paste, etc.) or medicines (such as compound licorice tablets, iron supplements, etc.) can easily turn the tongue coating black, but this is only a temporary phenomenon and there is no need to worry.
