The pain in the ligaments of the feet is caused by excessive fatigue due to long-term weight bearing. Some patients also have inflammation caused by previous injuries that were not properly treated. It can be treated by applying plasters and massage. Pay attention to rest and try to avoid long-term weight bearing. Plaster treatment More than half of the patients can get relief from their symptoms by resting. Hot compresses and massage can dissipate nodules, and blocking painful nodules is also quite effective, but exercising the lumbar muscles may still be the most important. A small number of patients with stubborn symptoms that cannot be cured for a long time require surgical treatment. During the operation, cracks can be found in the local fascia and fat herniates from the cracks. These are the nodules palpable clinically. Adhesions of fat to surrounding tissues, including fascia and adjacent cutaneous nerve branches, may be the cause of pain. Surgery should include excision of the nodule, repair of the fascia, separation of adhesions, and excision of the cutaneous nerve. The effect is often good, but because the lesions are often multiple, surgery can only solve the symptoms of one place, so the surgical indications should still be strictly controlled. Traditional Chinese Medicine Treatment Western medicine treats fasciitis by following its consistent concept of divide and conquer, "treating the head for a headache and the foot for a foot pain", ignoring the integrity of the human body. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that fasciitis is caused by external factors such as wind, cold, dampness, trauma, and strain, which lead to damage to the fascia, blood stasis, muscle spasms, meridian blockage, and poor circulation of qi and blood; and internally due to kidney deficiency and liver malnutrition, resulting in the onset of the disease. Fascial cream is the best treatment for fasciitis. Traditional Chinese medicine's method of internal regulation and external treatment can, on the one hand, repair damaged fascia, clear blood stasis, and relieve muscle spasms; on the other hand, it nourishes kidney yin, regulates the body's mechanism, promotes qi and blood circulation, and combines attack and supplement. Therefore, it has the effect of treating both the symptoms and the root cause in the treatment of fasciitis. Traditional Chinese medicine says: "Human diseases come from inside and outside. Those that are prevalent in the meridians and internal organs can be driven away by taking medicine. If the disease is already located between the skin, tendons and bones and can be expelled by pressing, apply a plaster to it to block the qi, allowing the medicinal properties to enter the skin from the pores and pass through the meridians, or lift it out, or attack and disperse it, which is more effective than taking medicine." Chronic phase treatment The treatment for patients in the chronic stage is mainly based on proper rest, oral and topical anti-inflammatory and analgesic drugs, muscle relaxants and sedatives, the use of Chinese medicine for promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis, and proper muscle relaxation massage. After the symptoms of back pain caused by lumbar muscle strain are relieved, you should actively strengthen the training of your back muscles, adjust your work and life rhythm, strengthen the health of your waist, prevent your waist from being stimulated by adverse factors such as cold, trauma, strain, etc. You should sleep on a hard bed or a relatively hard Simmons mattress, avoid sleeping on a camp bed or a soft sofa, and do some appropriate waist exercises after getting up. Otherwise, the symptoms of chronic lumbar muscle strain may recur very easily. If you suffer from repeated episodes of lumbar muscle strain or lumbar myofasciitis, it will easily accelerate the degeneration of the lumbar spine. Over time, it may easily cause more serious lumbar disc herniation or lumbar spinal stenosis. Clinically, lumbar muscle strain, lower back strain, and chronic lumbar myofasciitis actually mean the same thing. Most of the time, different orthopedic surgeons may diagnose the same patient as lumbar muscle strain, lumbar myofasciitis, or even lower back strain based on their own habits, but the treatment methods they choose are the same, and their estimates of the condition are also the same. So if such patients receive different diagnoses from different doctors, there is no need to be alarmed. Manual therapy (1) Gun method: Apply the Gun method to the patient's waist along the direction of the sacrospinal muscle fibers. The technique should be gentle and gentle, and roll continuously for 8 minutes. Then apply the tendon separation method to the affected area. If there are obvious cord-like changes, the technique should be slightly heavier, and the thumb should be used to pluck along the direction of the muscle fibers for about 2 minutes. (2) Palm kneading method: The doctor uses the thenar and hypothenar eminences to knead the soft tissues of the painful area in a circular motion from top to bottom, applying a certain amount of pressure. The kneading is repeated for 7 to 8 minutes. Then, the doctor applies a dispersion method on the waist and back for 2 minutes to improve local blood circulation, thereby achieving the effects of warming the meridians, promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis, and relieving inflammation and pain. (3) Arm massage: The doctor touches the patient's skin with the ulnar side of the forearm and rubs it in a circular or semi-circular motion. This method covers a larger area and each treatment can last for 5 to 7 minutes. The doctor then applies the tendon smoothing method locally, smoothing the muscles from top to bottom for about 5 minutes. (4) Pressing method: Use both palms to press, overlap your hands, and press with the thenar eminence or the entire palm. The pressing movement should be continuous and gentle. When pressing to a certain depth, you can perform rotational pressing, and each time should last about 10 minutes. |
