The latest typical medical history of uterine fibroids

Mao XX, female, 38 years old, a farmer from Shangjie District, Henan Province. She came to our hospital (formerly Beijing Zhongbei Weike TCM Oncology Clinic) on September 6, 2002. Main complaint: heavy menstrual flow for more than a year, accompanied by fatigue, laziness and shortness of breath. In the past two months, the above symptoms have worsened, the menstrual period is generally 7-9 days, the menstrual flow is heavier, the color is dark and there are clots, and the lower abdomen and breasts are swollen and painful.

Her complexion was dull, her tongue was dark red, and her pulse was deep and thin. Gynecological examination revealed that her uterus was enlarged as if she was pregnant for more than 50 days, with hard texture and bilateral adnexa (one). The uterine cavity was about 9.5 cm. Ultrasound examination showed uterine fibroids (intramural), with a size of about 3.0×2.1×1.6 cm. Chinese medicine diagnosed it as qi stagnation and blood stasis. She started to use the Zhongxiaokang series on September 8, 2001, taking it orally and externally, for 3 consecutive months.

After stopping the medication in December 2002, she came to our hospital for a follow-up visit. Her menstruation was normal, with a decrease of about 20%. Her spirits had improved significantly, her complexion was ruddy, and her lower abdomen and breast pain had disappeared. Her pulse was normal. Gynecological examination showed that her uterus had returned to normal, with a medium texture and a uterine cavity of 8.5 cm. B-ultrasound revealed that the fibroid had disappeared. No recurrence was found in the follow-up visit in March 2003.
